Overview
From Hfour Studio
TED invited us to create an interactive experiential activation space in one of their simulcast rooms at TED 2019. We created an interactive video installation controlled by a conductor's baton. The constellations we commonly know aren’t the only ones there are. Cultures around the world have created numerous star maps. Each has their own interpretation, and stories, of how the stars fit together in a cosmic game of connect-the-dots. In this experience, you reveal various sets of constellations by waving the conductor’s baton. The ability to appreciate multiple constellation sets simultaneously shows the imaginative and creative spirit of the human mind. In this installation, stars follow their paths faster than usual, like a time-lapse, a vision of the vastness of the universe. The conductor’s baton reveals a superimposition of neutrino collision paths, a representation of the infinitesimally small and brief time period of the event. By bringing together the incredibly large and small, slow and fast, we represent the opportunity to be free from limitations.
