HAIR DAY : A Community Based Braiding project is a curated installation by Courtney Brooks (@cbrooksart) the inaugural Curator-in-Residence for the Art on the Atlanta BeltLine's Public Art Residency Program, to celebrate her identity as a Black female culture maker and visual performance artist Angela Davis Johnson in creating THIS CROWN BELONGS TO US. This art installation will be activated on the opening for Journey of a Black Girl March 14th, 2020.
Hair Day, A Community Based Project concluded its last workshop on hair braiding and beading that engaged various communities, to participate in making 15ft long braids with various materials. Focusing on sisterhood and storytelling, the special date is held at Naturalz Salon located at The MET .
