Coordinated world-wide sleep out to raise awareness about global homelessness. Program featured Jeannette Bayardelle, Will Smith, James Matthews, Jay Buchanan, Dulcé Sloan, the War and Treaty and more. With 5 charity beneficiaries, the campaign brought out over 60,000 people to sleep in public spaces in 52 cities around the world.
In New York City, hundreds of people brought their sleeping bags to fill in the four Broadway plazas, braving the below-freezing overnight temperatures to show their commitment to the cause. They enjoyed a midnight “Bedtime Story” from award-winning actor Will Smith, who also pleased the crowd with a reworked Sleep Out rendition of his iconic “Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” song.
