Algorland: Earth Day Takeover

Algorand wanted to demonstrate, for a global audience, how crypto can be climate-conscious. On Earth Day 2022, we took over Times Square to shed light on Algorand’s carbon-negative blockchain. We flooded the iconic intersection with 47 screens of Algorand green before fading them to black. The blackout saved 23.4 billion joules of energy, and educated the audience on how much further that power goes on Algorand’s ledger.
