From Peridot Events
For Planned Parenthood Mar Monte’s first-ever Oakland Gala, Peridot partnered with the development team to imagine and execute a bold new fundraising experience—one that honored the organization's deep roots in the East Bay while celebrating the grand opening of the new Barbara Lee Health Center just steps from the venue.
Set in the iconic Rotunda Building in downtown Oakland, the evening blended activism, celebration, and community with purpose-driven design. Peridot led the event strategy, creative direction, and full production execution, crafting a guest experience that was vibrant, unexpected, and unmistakably local. A strolling dinner highlighted beloved Oakland food partners, while a fluid, lounge-forward layout encouraged connection over traditional programming. Immersive elements like sex-ed bingo, character actors, and interactive installations offered playful nods to the organization’s mission while keeping the energy high and the conversation flowing.
The evening’s program featured powerful speeches from local leaders and reproductive rights advocates, high-energy entertainment, and a heartfelt call to action that underscored the urgency and impact of Planned Parenthood’s work. An afterparty capped off the night with music, dancing, photo booths, and a renewed sense of community momentum.
