Overview
From Record Play
Record Play flipped its famed music-trivia show into a day party celebrating the hits of the 90’s and 2000’s while raising critical funds for the SIMS Foundation, which provides mental-health care to more than 25,000 members of Austin’s music industry for over 30 years. From Nirvana, Ace of Base, and Destiny’s Child to Outkast, Britney, and The Backstreet Boys, we dove deep into the songs that raised us — across hip hop, R&B, pop, and rock.
Attendees played as teams, answered series of multiple choice questions for points. Top teams competed in challenges including autotune karaoke, musical chairs, dance battles and more. In between rounds, we had mini-games to keep the crowd engaged and donating to collect more raffle tickets.
After the game, the after-party featured rounds of raffle with donations from Austin FC, Spa Treatments, gift cards to restaurants and tickets to live music events.
We raised $1,200 which will help Austin artists pay for 20 therapy sessions.
