Ken Kee Restaurant, located in the center of Chicago Chinatown Square, serves Hong Kong Cart Noodles and traditional Cantonese dishes. Cart noodle is an à la carte noodle dish that became popular in Hong Kong and the canton area since the 1950s through independent street vendors operating on roadsides and in public housing estates in low-income districts, using carts. Many street vendors have vanished, but the name and style of noodles endure as a cultural icon. It is an iconic noodle dish for Hong Kong just like ramen in Japan and spaghetti in Italy.
