About

Ina Mae Tavern is what happens when the Big Easy meets the Windy City. Over the years, Chef Brian Jupiter and Mark Domitrovich have taken several trips to New Orleans. Ina Mae Tavern, named after Chef Brian Jupiter’s great-grandmother, was inspired by the charming Mom and Pop joints, dive bars and corner stores of his hometown. His great-grandmother and grandmother, entrepreneurs themselves, were a reflection of the everyday independent operators that made the city special. It was this influence that inspired Chef Brian Jupiter to bring an authentic Southern experience to Chicago. This authenticity can be seen through the live music, signature New Orleans cuisine, custom packaged goods and neighborhood feel on the corner of Beach and Wood in Wicker Park. Since 2018, Ina Mae Tavern has received local and national recognition for its ambiance and cuisine. Ina Mae has received 3 Bib Gourmand’s and Chef Brain Jupiter is a 2022 Chopped champion and has 2 James Beard Best Chef Midwest nominations at our sister restaurant Frontier. We want you to eat and drink like they do in the South. Stop by for some Fried Chicken and Po boys. Enjoy a Frozen Daiquiri, while listening to live music on our patio. After all, the only thing worth fussing about is a great time.
