Enduring & lively Roman/Jewish eatery overlooking ancient ruins, a go-to place for fried artichokes.
The story of "Giggetto al Portico D'Ottavia" begins when, back from the First World War, Luigi Ceccarelli known as "Giggetto" and his wife Ines did not miss the purchase of an old tavern which since 1923 became famous for the good wine from Frascati and for the exquisite dishes carefully prepared by “Sora Ines”; one of all: the unsurpassed “carciofi alla giudia”. Few know that Giggetto has already reached the third generation, in fact Franco Ceccarelli is already assisted by his son Claudio, the grandson of someone who strongly wanted to keep alive the reality of the true "Roman tavern".
