The Murphy Room at Umi Modern Japanese in Buckhead offers an exclusive private dining experience that artfully blends culinary excellence with artistic sophistication. Designed by renowned British designer Tom Dixon, the space pays homage to the late Atlanta artist Todd Murphy, featuring his 1994 painting "The Swimmer" as its centerpiece. This artwork inspired the room's distinctive wavy mirrored ceiling and moody color palette, creating an ambiance that is both intimate and evocative. Accommodating up to 24 guests, the Murphy Room features a 20-foot live-edge walnut dining table illuminated by over 40 Tom Dixon Void LED pendants, fostering a warm and inviting atmosphere. Guests have the opportunity to collaborate with Umi's culinary team to customize menus, selecting from a range of offerings including assorted nigiri, aburi, hot dishes, and vegan sushi options. The room's design emphasizes minimalism to keep the focus on the food, ensuring an unforgettable dining experience.
