São Paulo Museum of Modern Art

The São Paulo Museum of Modern Art is a non-profit civil society of public interest, founded in 1948. Its collection has more than 5,000 works produced by the most representative names in modern and contemporary art, mainly Brazilian. Both the collection and the exhibitions favor experimentalism, opening up to the plurality of world artistic production and the diversity of interests of contemporary societies. The main exhibitions are held in two rooms, in addition to the glass room. Other exhibitions are regularly shown in the spaces of the library and the connecting corridor, where the Projeto Parede installation program is developed. Every two years, MAM holds the Panorama of Brazilian Art, an exhibition that results from the mapping of contemporary production in all regions of the country. The growth of interest in Brazilian art around the world has consolidated Panorama as a relevant exhibition on the international artistic circuit. The museum also maintains a wide range of activities that include courses, seminars, lectures, performances, musical shows, video sessions and artistic practices. The content of the exhibitions and activities is accessible to all audiences, through audio guides, video guides and translation into Brazilian sign language.
