Welcome to one of the greatest Opera Houses in Brazil. We at Theatro Municipal de São Paulo are immensely proud of the story we've told so far, and we work daily to make you proud of this living heritage. The luxurious building, visibly influenced by opera houses in Europe, was erected as an aspirational symbol of São Paulo’s high society, which, with the abundance of the coffee cycle, wanted a concert hall to match its European possessions and pretensions to receive the great artists of lyrical music and theater.
