Morfontaine is regularly ranked in the 50 most beautiful golf courses in the world by the biggest golf magazines. From 2005 to 2016, under the impetus of the committee, the architect Kyle Phillips modernized the course while retaining the unique character desired by Tom Simpson. In 2020, Morfontaine was ranked 7th in the Top 100 Golf Course in the world (outside US) by Golf Digest magazine, just behind The Old Course in St Andrews and 41stGolf Magazine's Top 100 in the World.
