The George has a modern style with historic bones. Lending her famous eye for style and design, Creative Director, Bobbi Brown, reimagined the space to have an upscale, chic aesthetic, plus hand-picked products from some of her favorite brands. Built in 1902 as a private home for Charles Van Vleck, The Georgian Inn was later converted into a residential hotel for short-term stays in the 1940s. At this time, the Montclair branch of the French Institute Alliance Française (FIAF) relocated its New Jersey headquarters to the Queen Anne carriage house in back. In 2008, the historic buildings were granted a landmark status and in 2012, after it was purchased, the hotel underwent a full renovation.
