Overview

This building was designed by John Kellum and completed by Leopold Eidlitz. It opened in 1881 and underwent a comprehensive restoration in 2001. The building includes Neoclassical style courtrooms, richly carved stonework, Romanesque architecture, gold leaf applique, and a stained glass skylight over an octagonal rotunda. Sections of the building are designated New York City Landmarks. Note: This building is no longer used as a courthouse and does not require an Office of Court Administration surcharge.
