XIX, which prepared it to receive demanding and selective visitors, in an environment of strong imagery and culture. Casa do Conto tells us a unique life story, which is, after all, the story of the changing city itself. In it, the domestic, solemn and vertical architecture, characteristic of the 19th century in Porto, stands out, marked by the scars of that time that mediated its decline and rebirth, the memory of the past and the desire for the future, the granite of the old facades and the new raw concrete of the staircase and ceilings.
