About

Carter House, built in 1830, was one of the premier farms in Middle Tennessee. During the Battle of Franklin on November 30, 1864, Carter House was used as a U.S. Army headquarters. Visitors can learn about the battle and the Carter family's experience as they sought shelter in their cellar during that fateful night.
