About

This 1873 - 1875 building in the Zanzenberg settlement "could easily survived an Indian attack with twenty-four-inch-thick stone walls and a basement hide-a-way." In more recent years, the local Story family restored this nationally listed historic building and much of what is now downtown Center Point. Zanzenberg Tavern, aims to serve the small community once again. Chef Brian Montgomery, a pioneer in farm-to table dining, locally sources food and drinks from around the region, keeping in step with the building that defines a local history. An expansive zinc bar between those thick limestone walls, rough timber framing, and a lush patio full of locals and westward travelers. The Texas Rangers would have never hit the trail if Brian had been around in those days.
