The Swan Southwold

We aim to bring you the ultimate Southwold and Adnams experience. Owned and run by Adnams, The Swan dates from the 1600s, but there’s been brewing on site here for at least 670 years. The Adnams brewery was established in 1872, at the same time as The Swan was purchased by brothers Ernest and George Adnams. Over 600 years of brewing history means that The Swan is steeped in beer – not literally! – but you’ll find references to brewing and distilling throughout the hotel. We’re situated in the heart of town, overlooking the market place, and are within a few short steps of the sea. Although our hotel has plenty of history, inside you’ll find the very latest modern conveniences, with bright, contemporary and colourful furnishings and thoughtful touches throughout. Our food is deliciously exciting and creative, and you can be sure of the very best ingredients and service. There are plenty of new taste experiences to discover, alongside a fabulous drinks range and cocktail bar. We have two very special private dining rooms, The Reading Room and the Juniper Room.
