Yoruya

Yoruya has been transformed into a 13-room boutique culinary hotel by renovating a Traditional Building designated by Kurashiki city - approximately 110 years old - while also adding newly constructed buildings. Originally built as a separate residence for a kimono merchant the building retains elements from that era - such as beams and pillars - which were preserved wherever possible during the renovation. The architectural approach aimed at achieving a -blending old and new- much like how the buildings of various eras have coexisted and been preserved in the Kurashiki Bikan Historical Quarter. In the same way Yoruya blends old and new elements as well as a variety of materials to create a unified and refreshed inn. In the rooms located within the renovated section you can feel the presence of the beams and pillars that have supported the building for over 100 years allowing you to reflect on the passage of time.
