Other than leather stamping, or screen printing - does anyone have any swag or similar stations you can bring to a trade show or conference? Something that happens live and guests get a takeaway of some kind!
At one event at SXSW they were offering custom western hats - guests got to choose their ribbon color, feather, and other trinkets to put on their hat. Have also seen graffiti sweatshirts at SWSX and custom beanies with your name embroidered at Sundance!
I was at a conference earlier this year and LinkedIn was taking headshots and then live printing the photo onto a sugar cookie. First time I'd seen that and the lines were loooong
@EventPlanner953 Reach out to Digital Events -- https://www.digitaleventsinc.com/, they are my go to and have helped me create custom activations for various brands.
Happy to intro you to Kyle if you want.
Recommend Michael Breach https://baristart.com/. Quite expensive since it’s important to pair good coffee/espresso with such an experience but it’s a great IRL to social activation
I agree with @EventPlanner112 - Digital Events is great!
Also wine glass and beer mug engraving. I did this a number of years ago at a reception and it was a huge hit. Attendees could have their names engraved on their wine or beer glasses. It was a destination event but no one seemed to mind packing them in luggage. There was a line at the station all night.
GM Sara - Not sure where your tradeshow booth activation is taking place but I usually like to tie it back to the client/brand that is giving it away + the destination. So for example, if it's San Diego, perhaps taking a quick personality test to receive 1 of 3 variety of Sunglasses.
And of course people still very much LOVE seeing their name in writing so anything you can give that has their initials or their first name is always desired. ie, Initials hot stamped on a notebook.
And to Alexa's comment above, do spend the time to staff enough OR have a plan so that the guest doesn't have to queue in a line that is longer than 15 minutes because many will decide if it's worth the wait based on that. I realize the more expensive the give-away, the queue will happen regardless but I always appreciate event producers that have a thoughtful queue in place. And I realize that queuing may be the effect you're going for to draw attention to your booth but don't forget, ask yourself and your client what their ultimate goal is - is it to have a give-away that people will go seek them out to learn more about them and talk about them later or just to have a visible queue?
Live chain-stitching is a little different and fun! Totes, bandanas, patches, etc
Personalized tech accessories are always fun. Offering customization for tech gadgets like phone cases, laptop sleeves, or power banks. Attendees can choose designs, colors, or even add their names, while having something to walk away with. We have our own products and services customization division here at Bucom International if you are looking for some more ideas. Please let me know.
came across this thread in a hunt for event activations - @EventPlanner9757, do you remember the name of the vendor you used for beer mug engraving? I love the idea!
@EventPlanner184 I am not sure if you have connected with Meghan yet, but we would be able to help here at Bucom. If you are interested, we can schedule a call to learn more about the design, number of pieces, etc.
Hi @here I hope you are all doing well. We are planning our companies holiday party and wanted to reach out to see if you had any great activation recommendations. I have two but was told they are too “much” but now I can’t stop thinking about them. They are a lot for a Christmas party but I digress. Would love to hear reccos! Thank you!

Hey guys! I’m looking for smaller venues in LA for a corporate networking event. It’s an afternoon event with presentations followed by a cocktail hour. I think the capacity should be for 50-100 ppl. The client tends to like trendy, colorful and out of the ordinary venues rather than hotel conference rooms. In-House AV setup is a plus. Any help is appreciated, thanks in advance! 😊

Hello, all! I'm looking for recommendations for a cool space in Los Angeles venue (Hollywood, WeHo, Culver City, DTLA, Mid-City) to host a networking reception (100-150 ppl). Preferably a venue has both indoor and outdoor space. The place that was used pre-pandemic is now closed so it would be great to find something similar. https://www.theparlorhollywood.com/

More SF & LA questions for you all!
1. SF: Need 2 locations for a roundtable of 20-25 people that will serve breakfast or lunch. Prefer a restaurant, but am def open to hotel or meeting venue. (April 15 & 16). (I found this SF thread from a few weeks ago, but I think we have a little more budget than Wendy!)
2. LA: Need 2 dinner locations for April 16 & 17, about 15pax each dinner. Looking in West Hollywood/Beverly Hills area for Tuesday & Santa Monica/West Side area for Wednesday. Something nice, and quiet enough that it will allow for conversation (business dinners with potential clients).
