On June 13, 2015 the Hillary For American Campaign came to long-time event strategist and The Markham Group Partner, Greg Hale to plan and execute the official Presidential Campaign launch. The stakes were high for the campaign and Markham. The New York Times framed it as, “an event shaping up to be the most ambitious public gathering undertaken by the campaign since Ms. Clinton began her quest for the White House in April.” Roosevelt Island was selected as the announcement site and presented daunting logistical challenges. To capture the historical image in a both picturesque and energetic fashion, Greg Hale and Markham worked tirelessly on every level of detail. The planning and execution included mathematical evaluations of scenic placements, from crowd staging to the raised walkway and the main stage which uniquely incorporated the “H“ campaign logo. Press risers were specifically engineered to facilitate multi-dimensional camera shooting positions. Every step of crowd control and logistics had to be coordinated with U.S. Secret Service and handled carefully on the narrow island. Thousands of attendees began arriving in the early morning as hundreds of press needed to be credentialed and transferred to the island. The event featured a 75-minute pre-program, which included a drumline from Brooklyn, elected officials and crowd-pumping music before Secretary Clinton took the stage. Over 7,000 attendees and 550 members of the national and international press attended.
